My most recent novel was born out of an idea of mashing up Die Hard with The Hunger Games. As I progressed with developing the idea Die Hard sort of disappeared and more Harry Potter and/or Percy Jackson started appearing. The book I finished with is called Sessi and the Gate to Hel which is a story about an orphaned teen who has bounced around the foster care system for a few years since her dad died when she was a freshman in high school. Now she has somewhat settled at a new school and begins to discover new meaning in her life as she finds family connections to the world of Norse mythology.
