My second book in the Katz Pajamas series is The Haunted House of Hashimoto, which takes Katz on a ghost hunt with three other successful investigators: Dr. Bingo Pinkerton, Madame Buttercup, and Archibald Wigglebutt. In the book, Mr. Hashimoto has set up an evening of mystery by forcing his guests to search through his masion for an elusive poltergeist.

As I developed this story, I thought back on the movie written by Neil Simon Murder By Death with Peter Sellers. I have to admit, I didn’t remember much about the film other than multiple detectives going to an eccentric millionaire’s mansion and solving a mystery, but I thought it would be fun to take Katz to such a mysterious location and have him work alongside other detectives.
